    Working Safely Is Working Smart

    The management team at Smartchoice Finishes Inc. takes the health and safety of every employee very seriously. Our philosophy is that the well-being of our company depends on the health and safety of our workforce. To enable us to keep our quality and deliverables at the highest levels, we must ensure the health and safety of our workforce at all times. To achieve this goal, we have developed, implemented, and regularly re-evaluate our health and safety program. All employees must adhere to the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the regulations made under the OHSA. All employees also receive ongoing health and safety training ensuring a safe work environment. It is everyone's responsibility to be vigilant in protecting the health and safety of our workforce and clients alike.

    General Manager’s Message

    I want to take this opportunity to thank those involved with the design and implementation of our health and safety program. Worker health and safety continues to be a fundamental principle at Smartchoice Finishes and dictates how we do business.

    Smartchoice Finishes continues to strive for an accident-free workplace. Accidents are not part of our business and are never an acceptable risk. The health and safety of every employee and subcontractor working for our organization is our number one priority. As such, we regularly review our Health & Safety Policy, along with training programs and our business practices.


    Our Health & Safety Policy was prepared for your use and reference. To be successful in health and safety, we require the cooperation and dedication of all levels of management, supervisors, employees, and subcontractors and their employees. This policy has been developed to assist you in making the right choice when it comes to your health and safety.


    I want to reiterate that any health and safety violation, by any employee or subcontractor, will be grounds for immediate disciplinary action up to and including termination. We hold all employees and subcontractors responsible for engagement in the Internal Responsibility System (IRS), with the expectation that health and safety is a fundamental and primary focus of all. I ask that you read this manual in its entirety. Please raise any questions, concerns or suggestions to your immediate supervisor, H&S Representative or myself.
